안철수, 바른정당과 통합 전당원투표 제안
Ahn Cheol-soo of the minor opposition People's Party has declared that he's pushing to unite his party with the minor conservative Bareun Party.
This comes after months of speculation that the two parties would eventually merge.
Holding a press conference on Wednesday morning,... People's Party chief Ahn Cheol-soo said his party members will vote on whether or not to join with Yoo Seong-min's Bareun Party, which has eleven lawmakers in the National Assembly.
Ahn said if the majority of the party members vote against the merger,... he would resign from his leadership position.
It's a fresh change on the political front,... as the new merger, if decided, could create the assembly's third biggest negotiating bloc.
It would also see two former presidential candidates,... Ahn Cheol-soo and Yoo Seong-min, in the same political party.
