The Ribbed Dog Whelks had a field day last set of tides. This video is from nearer inshore in the area seemingly favoured by the species Nassarius pullus. They were swarming over, under and around the unfortunate ray. I did notice one Nassarius luridus amongst the other dog whelks. Amazing sense of smell/taste. That dead ray drew dog whelks from many tens of meters away as I did not see any other as I wandered away.
