Skadar Lake | Podgorica Montenegro Remote Village

There is a lot more to Montenegro than the beaches (although the beaches are pretty amazing). A 40-minute drive from the capital city of Podgorica you will find the biggest lake in the Balkans, Lake Skadar. (It has other names in other languages).

We stayed on a local families wine farm and where the lady was even born and raised. It was the hottest week in Europe for 2021 so it was HOT!

We met a lovely Polish couple and did a tour of Lake Skadar by boat, saw a snake swimming, had the best-fried carp every night, and enjoyed the peaceful remote village.

If you do plan to come here make sure to bring cash and groceries as the closest shop is 20km away (and it doesn't have much) and the closest ATM is even further and everything is cash.
