FreshGrass | Bentonville was a two-day, family-friendly music festival celebrating bluegrass and roots music that made its debut at the Momentary on October 1-2, 2021.
Musical legends shared the stage with promising newcomers and FreshGrass discoveries in a foot-stomping, fun-filled weekend of bluegrass and roots music and culture. FreshGrass | Bentonville featured Billy Strings, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Steep Canyon Rangers, Aoife O’Donovan & Noam Pikelny, Alison Brown, Flor de Toloache, Leyla McCalla, Martha Redbone, a Tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe with Felicia Collins, Smokey and the Mirror, The Ozark Highballers, and many more.
Music performances were accompanied by festival events that celebrated the culture around bluegrass and roots music, including FreshSongs, premier performances of new music created at The House of Songs by Willi Carlisle, Bonnie Montgomery, Kalyn Fay, Mamie Minch, Sage Nizhoni, and Billy Keane; a FreshKids area with fun family-friendly activities; great food and drink from local food truck favorites; retail vendors and artist merchandise; and pop-up performances across the Momentary’s campus.
FreshGrass | Bentonville was presented by the Momentary in collaboration with MASS MoCA, the FreshGrass Foundation, and No Depression. Sponsored by The Source, Visit Bentonville, Bentonville Brewing Company, Axe and the Oak Distillery. Reverb Room at FreshGrass | Bentonville was sponsored by Coca-Cola.
