Edward Paisnel, known as "The Beast of Jersey," was a notorious criminal who terrorized the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. Paisnel targeted women and children, committing a series of brutal sexual assaults and attacks that left the community in fear for years.

Disguising himself with a rubber mask, nail-studded wristlets, and a wig, Paisnel would break into homes at night, assaulting his victims. His reign of terror continued until he was apprehended in 1971. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison for his crimes.
