Vendakka Mappas | വെണ്ടയ്ക്ക മപ്പാസ്

Vendakka (okra) Mappas is a creamy rich curry, cooked in coconut milk with mustard tempering. It has the traditional south Indian flavour and can be made quite easily with very few ingredients. It is best served with rice. Happy cooking !
Ingredients
Okra - 1C
Oil - 1tbsp
Garlic - 4
Ginger - 1/2tsp
Green chilli - 1
Onion - 1
Turmeric powder - 1/4tsp
Coriander powder - 1tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder - 1/2tso
Garam masala - 1/8tsp
Pepper powder - a pinch
Salt - 1tsp
Tomato - 1
Curry leaves - few
Coconut milk - 1C (second extract)
Coconut milk - 1/2C (first extract)
Mustard tempering
Oil - 1tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2tsp
Shallots - 3
Dried chilli - 2
Curry leaves - few
