Yesterday, we had the incredible opportunity to join the celebration of International Girls in ICT Day, hosted by the Philippines.
It was an amazing day full of insights and inspiration, all under this year's theme, '𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩.'
We listened to some of the most visionary women in tech and STEM, who are not just leaders in their fields but also passionate advocates for empowering the next generation of women.
It was spearheaded by ITU and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) under the Digital Innovation for Women Advancement (DIWA) initiative, and it 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲.
Hearing the stories of women who have broken barriers and are paving the way for future generations was nothing short of motivational. It really made us think about the critical role leadership plays in tech and how we all have a part in nurturing and supporting young women who aspire to be the tech leaders of tomorrow.
A big shoutout to everyone who made this day a success, and thank you DICT and ITU (International Communications Union) for letting me share my journey to the next generation of leaders.
