While General David Petraeus is most noted for his transformation of the war in Iraq with the Surge in 2007, he was also very involved with the simultaneous conflict in Afghanistan. Beginning with special projects for the Secretary of Defense in 2005, through his eventual command of The United States Central Command and all forces in Afghanistan, and then his stint as Director of the CIA, he has watched that war evolve and influenced that process. Dr. Conrad Crane moderates a discussion with the general about where Afghanistan has been, and where it might be going.
