In a Hamilton County courtroom a preliminary hearing got underway Wednesday morning for two suspects charged in connection with a triple murder in Lookout Valley that happened back on April 9th.
Derek Morse and Skylar Allen are both in the courtroom.
Police say John Morris, 24, John Lang, 53, and Caleb Boozer, 29, were found murdered at an RV campsite in Lookout Valley, along with a 16-year-old who survived being shot several times.
That 16 year old was the first to testify in the preliminary hearing before Judge Christie Sell. He told the court he and 3 others were hanging out listening to music and smoking pot when the shooting happened
That witness says Morse got out of a car, looked at one of the victims and started shooting. The witness was shot 5 times. He also testified that he heard Morse say "Make sure they're all dead."
The teen said one victim was owed $20 by Derek Morse. A couple of days before the shooting, the victim and 2 others went to "get" the money.
But defense attorney Hank Hill pressed the witness about what he saw that day, compared to a sketch released by Hamilton County authorities a few days after the murders.
The defense attorney for Skylar Allen pressed the witness about the sketch. The teen says it looked "kind of like them." He said he knew "fore sure" that he had met Skylar Allen two or three times. But says Allen's hair was darker when he was arrested.
The hearing ended with the case being bound over to a grand jury.
