This is Day 1 of a three day survival adventure. I begin with no food and only carry with me some basic provisions including pants, poncho, sandals, bowie knife, calabash bottle gourd for water and a ferro rod to start fires. I start in the flat desert and then wander into the mountains in search of water and a suitable location to build a primitive camp consisting of a simple shelter and fire for warmth.
