There is only one Delta MD-90 left in service: 27.1 year-old N925DN. This aircraft will operate the final MD-90 service from Houston Intercontinental to Atlanta as flight DL90
N925DN will then depart Atlanta for Blytheville, Arkansas (BYH) at 10:50 AM and arrive at 11:05 AM local time, where the aircraft will officially retire.
There’s still 13 active MD-88s in Delta’s fleet. The following MD-88s will ferry to Blytheville for retirement today:
27.6 year-old N908DE will fly from Memphis, 27.5 year-old N912DE will fly from Nashville, 28.4 year-old N995DL will fly from San Antonio…
...29.5 year-old N966DL will fly from Columbus, 28.2 year-old N903DE will fly from Kansas City, 29.2 year-old N976DL will fly from Philadelphia.
These six MD-88s operated their final revenue service out of Atlanta on June 1, 2020.
The following seven MD-88s will operate their final flight from these cities to Atlanta on June 2, 2020:
27.7 year-old N907DE from Raleigh/Durham, 32.1 year-old N917DL from Sarasota, 29.2 year-old N978DL from Richmond...
…27.5 year-old N910DE from Pittsburgh, 28.3 year-old N902DE from Norfolk, 29.3 year-old N974DL from Bradley
The final MD-88 flight is operated by 28.3 year-old N900DE from Washington-Dulles as flight DL88. The aircraft will arrive in Atlanta at approximately 10:00 AM local time.
Hours after these MD-88s touch down in Atlanta for the final time, they will then ferry to Blytheville for retirement.
This is truly the end of an era. If you have any pictures or footage of these final flights, leave a link in the comments! Feel free to talk about your experiences with these aircraft!
