WTO "우크라전 탓 올해 글로벌 무역 성장세 반토막"
The World Trade Organization has warned that Russia's invasion of Ukraine could halve global trade growth this year as well as slowing down GDP growth.
The WTO said on Monday that while Russia and Ukraine together account for a relatively small amount of overall world trade and output, they provide a considerable amount of essential products like food and energy.
With this, the WTO now expects trade growth to be around 2-point-4 percent, roughly half its October forecast.
Global GDP growth is also expected to slow by up to 1-point-3 percentage points, to drop as low as 3-point-1 percent.
The impact will be felt more by some regions like Europe, as they depend more on the two countries in terms of grains and energy.
