I walk through issues I had when trying to approach reading this epic poem and give advice for picking a translation, approaching reading it, and reasons for reading the introduction. Then, I provide a summary and review of, The Portable Dante by Mark Musa; which was the translation of the Divine Comedy that I read very easily and would recommend for your first time reading.
