Main Dining video on our 16-day Cruise on Caribbean Princess MDR with daily highlights of our starters , soups , salad and main course selection.
We had dinner in all the 3 main dining rooms, Island Dining Room, Coral Dining Room and Palm Dining Room. Dinner and service were very good. It was an almost full capacity ship and all 3 dining rooms were packed during peak hours. Be prepared to give some time for your dinner if you have a full ship. We booked one month ahead and could not get the earlier timing we wanted and we had staggered dinner time and different dining rooms throughout our cruise. But that did not bother us at all as the culinary team did a very good job.
We enjoyed most of the food we ordered. We do not eat beef meat but there was always something we liked. Choices of chicken, duck, lamb and a variety of seafood dishes. I especially loved their seafood dishes and chicken dishes which were done pretty well. Good quality fish were offered on several days. Fish skin was crispy and meat was tender. No pungent "fishy" smell. Chicken satay was bland looking but surprisingly the chicken breast meat was grilled to the right tenderness. Dunked into the peanut sauce and it added to the aromatic taste. Coq Au Vin was flavorful! The seared scallops had a good bite, firm but yet buttery. Lamb chops were tasty too. Enjoyed some of the cold soups too. Carrot cake dessert looked special and it was delicious! Chocolate tart was elegantly presented and it was a good choice too.
Remember to book early if you have a preferred timing or preferred dining room or location. Taste of food is subjective and we hope you will enjoy the main dining room food as much as we did!
