WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCIV) — A surprise Boeing whistleblower came forward with new allegations of safety issues just hours before its embattled CEO was set to testify for the first time in front of the United States Senate.
Senators are determined to hold Boeing accountable for safety and quality issues. In the latest whistleblower complaint released Tuesday morning, a quality inspector for 737s said the program was losing hundreds of nonconforming parts that could have ended up on a plane, causing a catastrophic event. He said Boeing also hid information from the FAA.
Dave Calhoun, the company's chief executive officer, and his lead engineer were in the hot seat for two hours.
