Cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange requires careful IOL selection to get the best possible visual performance.
Novel intraocular lenses allow patients with cataract, or myopia, hiperopia and/or astigmatism to be free of spectacles, and to treat presbyopia or ageing decrease of near vision.
The new presbyopia correcting IOLs are: multifocal, trifocal and EDOF lenses.
However, among EDoF IOLs there is number of different technologies, which will give different visual experience to a patient.
If we compare Tecnis Symfony, Tecnis Eyhance or new Alcon AcrySof IQ Vivity IOL, seems that these lenses similar, but have different technologies behind.
And these EDOF realisation will have some advantages and disadvantages, so you have to know the difference to select the best IOL option to restore your vision.
