First lecture on sections in the IPC that provide the defence against IPC offences. This lecture explains exceptions (and thereby defence against prosecution) arising from acts (criminal acts) done due to mistake of fact, by a judge acting in his judicial capacity, act in compliance with a judicial order, and an act done by a person by way of mistake of fact believing the act to be “justified by law” (not mistake of law).
