POEM
It's easy to be happy when you're not
It's easy to have the problem everyone forgot
Your brain will play games you don't know the rules to
You want to speak to someone but you don't know who
You'll ask yourself if its okay to be happy
Looking over your shoulder because everyone is talking
They think it's easy living this life
But you don't know which path to take whether you should be running or walking
They expect you to be able to explain
Exactly whats going on inside your brain
But words just aren't the same
Emotions sometimes don't feel enough
Internally you're so fragile but externally you're so tough
To everyone on the outside it's so simple and easy
But in reality even the thought of it makes me queasy
Constantly giving myself a pep talk so that I can do normal things like everyone else
But when I think my mind just melts
I don't want people to give me sympathy
I don't want to be wrapped up in cotton wool
Because I've lived this life for so long
& you don't have to tell me I get that its wrong
I guess deep down I want to be normal and to belong
