This is the moment EOD Mobile Unit 5 performed static line jumping in Apra harbor in Guam on the 15th of February 2022.
The exercise took place near Orote Point, Guam, where the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5 executes static line jumps. It was in support of fleet and joint force operations, improving their ability to get entry to restricted places in order to neutralize explosive hazards.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal personnel in the US Navy make all sorts of ordnance safe, including improvised, chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons.
They locate, identify, render safe, and collect (or dispose of) foreign and domestic ordnance on land and undersea.
They use detonation and burning techniques to destroy dangerous weapons, pyrotechnics, and retrograde explosives.
They advance deploy and completely integrate with the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army's Combatant Commanders, Special Operations Forces (SOF), and diverse battle units.
They also help military and civilian law enforcement authorities, as well as the Secret Service.
