The fifth of the compilation of train videos covers one of the most widely used traction control supplier in Asia, Mitsubishi Electric. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries currently only offers people mover systems (though they tried to bid for heavy rail rolling stock contracts), but Mitsubishi Electric's traction equipment has been the choice of Japanese, Korean and Chinese train manufacturers.

The timeline of this video goes back to 1969, resistor control technology in the venerable Kobe Electric 1100 Series, then chopper control technology for CityRail (now Sydney Trains), GTO chopper technology for Tokyo Metro and SMRT Trains, GTO-VVVF technology for Toei and Osaka Metro, IGBT-VVVF technology for MTR Hong Kong, JR East and Taipei Metro, and finally the latest SiC-VVVF for Tokyo Metro and Odakyu.
