Kevin Sullivan had produced 'Anne of Green Gables' for CBC, PBS, and the Disney Channel. It was Canada's highest rated dramatic production, studied in film schools as the model tv drama. After doing a sequel Sullivan reached deeper into the novels of Lucy Maud Montgomery and found two books about Sarah Polley, the 'story girl'. He re-set them in the 'Green Gables' universe and thus was born 'Road to Avonlea' (1990). Over seven seasons Sullivan had no trouble attracting guest stars ranging from Diana Rigg, Christopher Reeve, and Faye Dunaway to Madeline Kahn and Eugene Levy. The series would garner multiple Emmys and ACE Awards. There's much more about the show here - [ Ссылка ]
Music for the series was composed by John Welsman; Ann Arbor-born Don Gillis filled in from time to time. Welsman's theme is used through all seven seasons, in several different arrangements.
