Over half a million families live in Buenos Aires slums
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is a place where even the police does not dare to go.The police patrols the entry point into the slum, but they do not go further in.
I was strongly warned not even to think of going in there.

Illegally located between major tourist hubs and one of the most upscale neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, the shanty town Villa 31 has been a source of controversy in the capital of Argentina for over eight decades.
Not only do poor Argentinians live here, but also Uruguyans and Bolivians who came to an economically stronger country and ended up on the street. The slums are growing, and because they cannot only expand in width, they are also growing in height. In the ruins of houses improvized ad-ons have entire families living in them.
