We visited Japan in June 2019 and had a great time checking out the local delights.

For example, Ramen fans may have heard of Chuka Soba Tomita Ramen 中華蕎麦 とみ田. Founded by Osamu Tomita, Chuka Soba Tomita Ramen 中華蕎麦 とみ田 is a highly popular ramen shop in Japan known for their tsukesoba dipping noodles. Like tsukemen ramen, the soba noodles are first dipped into a bowl of broth before being slurped up.

However, we did not have the opportunity to dine at Chuka Soba Tomita Ramen 中華蕎麦 とみ田 but we did discover Myojo X Tomita instant noodles at the 7-Eleven convenience store which we gladly decided to sample.

This is Seven Premium’s Myojo X Chuka Soba Tomita Ramen 中華蕎麦 とみ田 instant noodles.

Seven Premium branded products are sold by the Seven & i Group and these emerged as a result of their collaboration with popular manufacturers.

Seven & i Group is the parent company of the Japanese 7-Eleven chain of convenience stores.

We did not try the soup-based type but the dry version of Tomita’s pork bone and seafood flavoured instant noodles. Upon opening the instant noodle pack, we found three sachets and each has a role to play in flavouring the noodle.

All that is needed is boiled water to cook the noodles and dehydrated ingredients from one of the sachets. The boiled water is subsequently drained out and the contents from the remaining two sachets, containing the powder and sauce, have to be mixed well with the noodles before serving.

Please excuse us for not being able to tell if this Myojo X Chuka Soba Tomita Ramen 中華蕎麦 とみ田 is somewhat similar in taste to their popular tsukemen simply because we haven’t dined there. It was a new taste experience for us. What we can say is that this dry instant noodle tsukemen is flavourful and worth the experience because it has the umami oomph.
