Opposition supporters celebrated in Islamabad, Pakistan, early on April 10 after Prime Minister Imran Khan was removed from office following a no-confidence vote in parliament.
Footage by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty shows crowds chanting outside Parliament House in the early hours of Sunday.
Following his ouster, Khan repeated allegations of a “foreign conspiracy” to have him removed from office.
Khan is the first prime minister in Pakistan’s history to be ousted by a no-confidence vote.
HIs supporters, however, took to the streets across several cities on Sunday night, April 10, following Khan’s removal from power earlier that day.
Footage posted by Naveer Bin Razi early on April 11 shows large crowds gathered in the Gulistan-e-Johar district in Karachi. According to reporting by local media, protests were held in cities across the country, including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
