Better Days (directed by Sestro Ki) showcases the mental state of a boy contemplating suicide. The film juxtaposes the dark themes with loose conversations and drifting thoughts, monologues and slice of life visuals.
Pioneering the "New Freestyle" movement of film making started in Johannesburg, South Africa, the film was made with NO SCRIPT and has multiple writers writing from their own perspectives of what the film is instead of the traditionally adopted version of screenwriter's writing from the perspectives of given characters.
The film also boasts that it is the first of its kind - a TOTEM FILM - a film shot exclusively on and for the purposes of viewing to take place on a smartphone (in portrait format).
