Sr. Maria Chiara and Sr. Annalisa Maria are Augustinian nuns living in a cloistered monastery in the heart of Rome.
They believe that their decision to enter a cloistered life is not a physical limitation but a theological perspective that allows them to go deeper in their relationships with their sisters, with God, with others, and with themselves. The cloister may be closed to the outside world, but it opens up unexpected horizons.
#PopeFrancis has emphasized the importance of cultivating daily fidelity and being attentive to the little things entrusted to our care. The monastery of the Four Crowned Saints, where the nuns live, was built in the 5th century on the remains of a Roman home and has been a residence for cloistered nuns since 1872.
