This is a video demonstrating the process I take for planning, preparing, and packing my food for a multi-day trip out in the backcountry. This is not the kind of food I'd take if I were doing a long distance thru-hike as that would follow a different strategy, but this is the kind of food I typically take on my more casual to semi-casual outings.
Total weight came out to be 8 lbs and 15 ounces after leaving out the extra energy bars and prior to also taking out one of the M&M packages. I ended up eating virtually all of the food, only ending up with a little trail mix, one of the smoothie packs, and some of the dehydrated veggies left over.
