LBC radio host, Katie Hopkins was left enraged after a guest on her phone-in claimed the global threat from grotesque terror network ISIS is “not as big as we think”.
The outspoken commentator launched into a furious attack on the caller, branding her “utterly mad” for believing the evil jihadis do not pose a “strategic threat” to the West.
Katie, who was discussing the US President Donald Trump’s decision to fire 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at a Syrian military airfield after Bashar al-Assad allegedly launched a deadly gas attack on civilians.
The #LBC host said people need to “pick their monsters”, adding that President Trump and other Western leaders should be focused on targeting ISIS strongholds in the area.
The caller, known only as Sabrina, challenged Katies comments, claiming the evil jihadi’s “ideology” should be targeted instead.
She said: “I think the strategic threat of ISIS is much smaller than we perceive it to be, but the ideologic threat of ISIS – that is their main threat.
“I think strategically”
However, the caller was swiftly interjected by Ms Hopkins, who launched into a passionate rebuke of her comments.
“Ideologically Sabrina, do you know what? We just had a truck take down five individuals,” she blasted.
“Do you know what, Sabrina? Ideologically a truck just hammered into pedestrians in Sweden.
“I’m sorry, I am not going to buy you telling me on the radio that ISIS are not such a big threat strategically because it’s ideological.”
She added: “I will not sit here and give you the airspace to tell me ISIS are not such a big thing to worry about. Believe me, sat here, having watching people slaughtered about four miles up the road – it is not a threat we can ignore.
“You Sabrina are utterly mad!”
Katies rant comes after an American ambassador to the United Nations revealed President Trump views regime change in Syria as a top priority in the Middle East.
President Trump also has other concerns in the region which include the defeat of ISIS and removing Iranian influence from the country.
Nikki Haley said: “We don’t see a peaceful Syria with Assad in there.”
She added: “You pick and choose your battles and when we’re looking at this, it’s about changing up priorities and our priority is no longer to sit there and the focus is on getting Assad out.”
