Award-winning author and journalist Pankaj Mishra offers his ideas on who benefits from India's rise on the world stage. Mishra is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, The Guardian, and The New York Review of Books. Mishra's first book, Butter Chicken in Ludhiana: Travels in Small Town India, described the profound changes taking place in rural Indian towns. His next novel, The Romantics, was translated into 11 languages and catapulted him onto the international literary scene. His two most recent books, An End to Suffering: The Buddha in the World and Temptations of the West: How to Be Modern in India, Pakistan and Beyond, were both featured in The New York Times' 100 Notable Books of the Year.
