Tetralogy of Fallot is cyanotic congenital heart disease when do you call it Tetralogy of Fallot . That means a VSD which is large to the size of the iotic analyst the pressure in the RV LV and aorta should be equal and they should be infundiblar or a pulmonary stenosis. Only then you call it as a Tetralogy of Fallot a mere small VSD and a pulmonary stenosis is not a tetralogy. We just call it as VSD pulmonary stenosis. So this is the definition of Tetralogy of Fallot. How does that develop this is a conjunctional disease? There is a septum which is called in the heart called as an infundibular septum. Iinfundibular septum is the one which divides the outflow tracts into two areas that is the pulmonary artery and the iota it divides that septum so whenever there is an anterior deviation of the septum. So there is a big defect is formed that is what is VSD. Ventricular septal defect why that defect is formed is because it is a malaligned VSD. Whenever there is a anterior deviation of this infundibular septum. There is a defect in the septum and there is also overriding of the aorta and the infant also becomes stenotic and the pulmonary artery also will become stenotic. This is what is the mechanism which happens in a Tetralogy of Fallot.
