See a lower unit installation on a Yamaha F225 in this video from Boats.net. Since we got this outboard, we’ve rebuilt the powerhead, the lower unit, and the exhaust system. In a previous video, we mated the powerhead to the midsection of the outboard, and now it’s time to install the rebuilt lower unit.
This is a straightforward job, though you’ll want to take a few minutes to prep the lower unit before installation, since it’s heavy and you won’t have enough hands to hold it in place, get Loctite on your bolts, and get it bolted in.
