Just this week the RSPCA caught several thieves on camera stealing donated goods from the RSPCA donated goods area at Wacol.
"We discovered four separate groups stealing donations of pet food and second-hand goods after going through CCTV footage from Sunday and Monday night. It was only by chance we went through the footage," RSPCA Spokesperson Michael Beatty said.
The footage showed that one group of women in particular spent more than half-an-hour rifling through donated items which had been left in the shed by generous members of the public.
These donations are vital to help feed and keep RSPCA pets warm as well as stock our RSPCA op shops across Queensland.
The CCTV footage has been passed on to police to investigate.
Anybody who is caught taking items from a charity bin or shed on private property can potentially be charged with stealing.
We have publicly released part of the CCTV footage of at least three separate people who were seen entering the sheds on the nights the thefts are alleged to have occurred.
If you can help identify the thieves please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
