Chennai, May 07 (ANI): With the parts of North and South India reeling under severe heat wave, people were seen making beelines outside juice shops and fruit carts. Juice shops and fruit stalls are doing brisk business as people are crowding these outlets to keep themselves cool and hydrated. Chennai is facing its worst drought in 140 years and locals complain of searing heat and say planting more trees could provide some relief. The heat wave is expected to worsen in May and June as these are the hottest months in India. Summers in India are a difficult time and soaring temperatures lead to numerous casualties. According to an Indian Meteorological Department report, over 700 people died in the country last year, which was the warmest year globally.
