Choosing the right type of wire for your next fence can be challenging, but we are here to help take the guesswork out of your decision when building a fence for beef cattle.
Pasture Management's high tensile fixed knot wire fence is the BEST option when building permanent fences for cattle. Specifically, we recommend the 9-49-6 option for high-pressure areas and the 9-49-12 option for lower-pressure areas and perimeters. High tensile fixed knot wire is undoubtedly the strongest fence we offer, and you need a really strong fence to keep your cows fenced in.
To help minimize pressure on the fence in your pasture, we recommend adding a strand or two of electric wire. This deters animals from rubbing or pushing up against the fence.
Another option if you don’t want to use woven wire for your fence in your pasture is to use multiple strands of high-tensile electric wire for fencing. Just make sure you always have good voltage at all times.
