As energy security is becoming an increasing concern for politicians, we take a look at how the USA has managed to transform its energy supply, taking it from a net importer of gas to a net exporter of LNG.
We look at the USA's hydrocarbon production and consumption and compare that to global consumption. We take a look at how the shale boom (fracking) has affected US oil and gas production.
Then we take a look at how the energy mix might look in the future. Despite a significant increase in renewables, oil and gas are still predicted to be the main energy sources in 2050 when looking at consumption.
