Her Father was film producer Nanubhai Desai. Her father died when she was 13.

Her mather Jyotsna Was a home maker. Bindu was the eldest Sister of seven siblings.

She got married at the age of 16 to her neighbour and boyfriend Businessman Champaklal Zaveri.

Actors Aruna Irani, Indra Kumar, Adi Irani and Firoz Irani are her cousins.
