The Brown Hotel turned 100 in October 2023.

To celebrate, our Doug Proffitt and chief archivist Joe Federle takes you back in time to 1985 through an hour-long special WHAS11 aired in honor of the reopening of the iconic hotel following a 14-year absence.

This special recounts how J. Graham Brown picked the corner of Broadway and 4th Street for his dream, the creation of the internationally famous dish the Hot Brown to the 1980s refurbishment bringing the property back to life.
