I recently had the opportunity to install sconce lighting on both side of the bed is a customer's home. She picked one of the light up on the second hand market, and a second from a lighting distributor. This are not cheap lights, by any means.
We were very fortunate that there were electrical outlets directly below where we wanted to install the sconces, and there were clear stud bays straight up! It was just a matter of removing the old receptacles and the boxes, fishing a new wire leg up to the hole we cut in the drywall. connecting everything together, and she now has accessible reading lights on each side of the bed!
She says this is going to encourage her to read more to her daughter, if that isn't the best reason to install new sconce lights, then I do not know what is!
