Hey everyone!
Here is my latest video from the 2018 Winter Photographer's Special that occurred on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. I was able to grab some footage with my GoPros and Mavic Pro over the course of the Saturday and Sunday mornings of the Photo Special. Hope you enjoy it!
On the railroad, the featured trains for the Photo Special included the newly restored K-28, #476, and as you will see in this video, Galloping Goose #5 from Dolores, CO.
Galloping Goose #5 was one of only seven rail-buses built in the 1930s by the now extinct Rio Grande Southern, a railroad that traveled through Southwestern Colorado from Durango, CO to Ridgway, CO. They were used as a economic alternative to steam locomotives by transporting mail and some passengers between the small towns found along the RGS. They helped extend the life of the financially challenged railroad by almost 20 years but even after the railroad's abandonment in the 1950s it is special that these relics of the past still are around today and are operational!
Galloping Goose #5 is a special one for me since I did my Eagle Scout Project with the Galloping Goose Historical Society of Dolores and am very familiar with this Goose and the history of the RGS in general.
Hope you guys enjoy and make sure to like and subscribe!
