Few years a go I visited the Silver mines of Potosi, the Cerro Rico. The mines were depleted in 1800s, which made commercial mining not viable, but the mines are still being worked by individuals, looking for silver and other precious metals, not in the hopes of getting rich, but just to provide for their families.
