The most successful of the interracial adoption sitcoms, 'Diff'rent Strokes' ran for eight seasons telling the story of a 'man of means' who adopts two black children whose mother passed away. It was known for its 'very special episodes' tackling more serious issues. (Ironically several cast members would have their own serious issues after the show ended; read Wiki if you want to be disillusioned.) The show's popularity would lead to series like 'Webster' and ''Silver Spoons'. The bouncy theme was by Alan Thicke, Al Burton, and Gloria Loring (known for her role on 'Days of Our Lives'). Three opens and two closes reflect cast changes and some minor tinkering with the theme.
