The 55th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers' Meeting is taking place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia this week amid great uncertainty in the region. The 10-member ASEAN invited other countries to the meeting, which was initially aimed at responding to regional challenges, such as the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, economic recovery, geopolitical competition, and increasing ASEAN's connectivity, centrality and resilience. But things are getting ever more complicated with the latest events regarding tensions across the Taiwan Strait and China-U.S. relations. So, what's the significance of the meeting?
