The Kizhi Museum-Reserve is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. This is unique historical, cultural and natural complex was built on an island 5 km long and 800 m wide.
You can get to the island from the city of Petrozavodsk (350 km from St. Petersburg) on a meteor for 1.5 hours on the way.
The pearl of the Kizhi complex is the Preobrazhenskaya Church. A wooden structure, built in 1714 without a single nail, only with the help of an ax and the highest skill of peasant carpenters.
