Patients with diabetes who also have ovarian cancer and use the drug metformin to treat their diabetes, appear to have a greater survival chance compared to patients who do not take it, according to a study published in the journal Cancer. These findings could aid researchers in their exploration of using existing medications to treat new diseases.
