A friend built a module and hand laid the trackage as a gift. There is a 36 inch radius interchange on one corner. The opposite corner has a 12 inch radius curved interchange with continuous guard rail and single point turnouts. The module is called "Boone Jct."
I was chastised by some fellow modelers that the 12 inch interchange had no use and wasn't following "standards". I wanted to see if there was a use for this trackage or determine if it was only good for scenery.
While trains have to run at a "walking speed" through this trackage, I find that it has acceptable value and usage potential.
