The 2020 Hoyt Archery hunting lineup has been revealed and it features six new bows: The Carbon RX-4 Alpha, Axius Alpha, Carbon RX-4 Ultra, Axius Ultra, Carbon RX-4 Turbo and, interestingly, the Helix Turbo.
The Alpha and Ultra models are built around the ZTR cam, which is the third generation of the ZT cam series. Hoyt boasts the ZTR is smoother to draw and features a stiffer back wall than any Hoyt ever. It comes in two sizes and each is adjustable with a rotating module.
Turbo models will rely on the faster ZT Pro cam.
Another new feature is the Integrate rest mounting system, which we first saw on the Mathews Vertix last year. This is a dovetail machined into the riser and it locks in a rest like no other system I’ve ever used. I wasn’t sure the Integrate dovetail would work on a carbon riser, but I’m thrilled to see that Hoyt has done it. Of course, the traditional berger button is still there so you can mount non-integrate rests.
As for Specs, the Carbon RX-4 Alpha and Axius Alpha have an axle-to-axle length of 29 ½ inches, brace height of 6 ⅛ inches, rated speed of 342 feet per second, and draw lengths ranging from 25 to 30 inches. The RX-4 Alpha weighs in at 3.9 pounds and has an MSRP of $1699, while the Axius Alpha weighs 4.3 pounds and retails for $1199..
The Carbon RX-4 Ultra and Axius Ultra have an axle-to-axle length of 34 inches, brace height of 6 ¾ inches, rated speed of 334 feet per second, and draw lengths from 27 up to 32 inches. The RX-4 Ultra weighs in at 4.1 pounds and retails for $1749, while the Axius Ultra is 4.6 pounds and has an MSRP of $1249.
Moving to the speed bows, the Carbon RX-4 Turbo has an axle-to-axle length of 31 inches, brace height of 5.88 inches, rated speed of 350 feet per second, draw length from 26 to 30 inches, and a weight of 4 pounds. MSRP is $1749.
The Helix Turbo differs only with a brace height of 5.63 inches, a weight of 4.1 pounds, and an MSRP of $1249.
