Hi there, I will show you how to deploy your Xcode app onto a real iPhone for free. Many other tutorials are obsolete now but this if fully updated for July 2023, Xcode 14 and iOS 16.4. Here is a method:
1.) Add your Apple ID to Xcode (go to Preferences, Account, then + at the bottom). Also sign the app -- go to the top-level (blue 'app store icon' on the left of the project manager) and then signing & capabilities, where you can add your team, and ensure it is also set to automatic.
2.) Add your iPhone to your developer account -- go to settings, privacy and security, developer mode (at the bottom) then turn on
3.) Back in Xcode, select your iPhone in the upper-most 'status view' at the top of the screen; you will need to select the current simulator to bring down a drop down of choices.
4.) Connect your iPhone to the computer (unfortunately this needs to be with an Apple made cable, although I have not tested this, I just heard this on another tutorial)
5.) Turn on your iPhone and go through the process of 'trusting this computer'. Press play button in Xcode to run the app on your phone
6.) Wait for the app to load on your phone. Before opening it, go to settings, general, device management & VPN and then allow
Hopefully success!
