Cardhu™ is the only distillery pioneered by a lady, Helen Cummins, who started producing whisky with husband John in 1811. For 13 years the couple craftily dodged excise officers, before going legitimate in 1824 with the acquisition of a licence. Whisky connoisseurs the world over have been savouring this smooth, silky and golden liquid ever since.
