A 65 year old male presented with chest pain and dyspnea. Spot the findings on the basis of echocardiography clips shown, answer is given after thirty seconds with explanation of findings.
Case 84 : FINDINGS & DIAGNOSIS:
Parasternal long axis view is showing hypertrophied left ventricle together with calcified and stenotic aortic valve. Zoomed PLAX view focused on Aortic Valve (AV) is also given. Apical three chamber view with color doppler suggesting restricted flow via aortic valve. Continuous Wave (CW) Doppler via Aortic valve is showing elevated mean gradient of 5.32 m/s, AV VTI (velocity time integral) of 128 cm. Pulse wave (PW) doppler at LVOT is showing LVOT VTI of 25 cm, putting all these measurements together Aortic valve area came out to be 0.95 cm2 according to continuity equation, which is suggesting SEVERE Aortic Valve Stenosis.
