Very often I receive questions from people that want to know how to handle their flighty, defensive, and/or nervous hatchling snakes. Whilst I have two such snakes in my care, it only seemed appropriate that I should make a video addressing these queries!
For beginner reptile keepers, handling a snake for the first time might be one of the most anticipated parts of ownership. However, that does not mean to say that the snake will feel the same: more often than not, hatchling snakes view us not as benevolent care givers but rather as predators, and who could blame them? In today's video, I discuss concerns around how to tame a snake and talk about ways that you can minimise stress during handling sessions - for both the snake and for you. Although taming a snake take a very long time, I believe that consistent, regular handling is all that you need to get off to a good start with your new pet.
